Specialist lawyer for Intellectual Property Law / Attorney
Katharina Reuer has been practising law in all areas of intellectual property for over 12 years and has extensive experience in litigation in trademark, design and competition law. Other areas of focus in her practice include the protection and management of international trademark portfolios and the conduct of administrative proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) and the EUIPO. She also has many years of experience in supporting advertising campaigns, geographical indication law, and disputes relating to freedom of expression.
Since January 1, 2024, she has headed the Intellectual Property Institute at the German Lawyer’s Association (DAI - Deutsches Anwaltsinstitut e.V.) and is one of the most frequently recommended attorneys in trademark and unfair competition law in the JUVE Handbook for Commercial Law Firms. She is also a member of GRUR (German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright) and ECTA (European Communities Trade Mark Association), where she is an active member of the Internet Committee and the EUIPO-Link Committee.
After completing her studies, she first obtained a master's degree (Mag.Jur.) in European Union law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. She completed her legal training at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Hamburg with placements in Hamburg, Berlin, and Alicante. From 2013 to the end of 2025, she worked as a lawyer at Taylor Wessing in Hamburg in the Trademarks, Advertising & Design practice group, becoming a salary partner in 2019.
She joined BROOK as a partner in January 2026.
